I walk past the architecturally-blessed lobby of the Hilton Pattaya and head towards the Drift bar, which is a great spot for high tea during the day. As I wait for the afternoon tea to arrive, I take in the amazing view and gentle breeze.
The Drift Afternoon Tea Set, including Coffee or Tea plus a glass of Rose wine or Sparkling wine at Drift costs 400 Baht nett, which without a doubt is incredible value for money.
First come the drinks, a hot cup of cappuccino and a chilled glass of sparkling wine (my favorite body of water with another beautiful body of water in the background).
The rest follow soon enough – Hello Sandwiches, Savories and Pastries!
Among the array of sandwiches were Prawn spring roll, Shrimp and Russian salad sandwich, an adorable spinach and ricotta cheese quiche, Pork ham and smoked turkey in a pretzel roll, and a Smoked Salmon mini bagel.
And then there was cake – A butterscotch toffee crust with strawberry jam filling, both plain and blueberry scones served with clotted cream, strawberry and pineapple jams, a Coffee and Chocolate layered Mousse, an apple upside down cake that was way too sweet – but not sweeter than this whole experience – La Dolce Vita!
The view here never ceases to amaze me, from the island couches floating beautifully on the water overlooking the sea to the stunning sunset over Pattaya bay.
Late into the evening the place lights up as it serves as a bar by night, ideal for some canapés and cocktails, or even nightcaps.
Do you also enjoy afternoon tea? Doesn’t this tea set with the stunning setting at Drift, Hilton Pattaya just look divine?
