Pattaya is famous (actually infamous) for its nightlife, so a few months back when the Hilton Pattaya unveiled their new swanky rooftop bar and restaurant on the 34th floor, aptly named Horizon, it was a welcome change. Locals like me, as well as tourists, were eager to check it out.
The most prominent feature of this place can be best described as an aperture in the ceiling, where you can look up at the sky, the clouds and watch as night falls and stars appear.
The first time I went there was in the evening, so I headed for the beautiful outdoor lounge where a stunning sunset warmly greeted me.
We walked around to get different views over the city, its various beaches and the vast sea. Soon after, we received our sundowners – A Mojito and a Berry Fizz.
I absolutely loved the reflection of the sun and the sky on the surface of the free-standing bar, which was breathtakingly illuminated as it got darker. It was probably my favorite spot to take in all the special sights with my special one.
My next visit was with some friends for post-dinner drinks, so the Horizon 8-Shot Tower seemed ideal. We chose ‘A Tribute to Yellow’; a delicious passion fruit cocktail charmingly presented.
We decided to order a few snacks to sample and share – Snowfish and Salmon Gyoza, Blackened Hokkaido Scallops with tomato relish and Duck Confit Ravioli with orange scented lobster bisque. All delicious and yes, yes, this was after dinner. Apparently (and thankfully) no one was on any sort of diet plan.
We were seated in one of their indoor private rooms, with sweeping views of Pattaya bay. But after a while, we moved our usually loud selves outside to enjoy the nice breeze and opted for some Bellini, which is always refreshing!
I gave a final gaze up to the bright shining moon before leaving – a perfect sight to end any night.
The Horizon Rooftop Bar at Hilton Pattaya is truly a fabulous spot to watch the sunset, catch beautiful views of the city, and enjoy delicious food and drinks.
