Thailand’s Sunsets

Pattaya SunsetDo you know the best thing about sunsets? It’s free art by mother nature and can be enjoyed daily from anywhere in the world. Sunsets are like nature’s eye-candy. Thailand is a beautiful country that I am glad to call home, and I’ve seen some pretty amazing sunsets and skies here.

Sometimes we take simple things for granted, like the sight of the majestic sun setting and the gradual change of colors in the sky. It’s so easy to find and appreciate wonderful things around us.

Limitless and eternal - a sunset in PattayaEvery sunset is special and there’s something grand, limitless and eternal about them. They are powerful yet calming, and somehow have a therapeutic effect. It’s really magical; the way the shapes of the clouds are highlighted and how the skies burst into different hues.

Even when the weather is gloomy and the sun is nowhere to be seen, you often still see a spectacular display in the sky!

Somewhere over the rainbow in Hua HinI love watching the sun set over the horizon, and living close to the beach is a blessing as the setting is even more special – the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and the scent of the ocean water to accompany a stunning sight.

Anyways, here are more of my favorite sunsets, skies and scenes during dusk that I couldn’t keep my eyes off. Most are from where I live, Pattaya, but few are from other places in Thailand too.

Nita, those are great shots! Sunsets are awesome and they’re even better than sunrises because of the more convenient timing 😀 My favorite sunsets are the ones at the beach; I also see this theme in your photos 😉

Glad you liked them! Thanks Deia :) I prefer sunsets for the same reason.. Ha!

Gorgeous images and you’re right, they happen daily and for FREE.

You should check out Stay Adventurous – he runs a weekly Sunset Sunday series – you could submit a sunset there.

Hi Maria! Appreciate it :) And I will check out the Sunset series. Thank you :)

    Awesome pictures, Nita.
…so true. We take too many things for granted (like sunsets).
My most amazing sunset(s) were in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean while crossing it in a small catamaran which took us 15 days.

Thanks Christina :) And wow, at sea for 15 days? That certainly sounds like an adventure!

This is such a beautiful post! Love the photos, and the reminder to look outside in the evening – it’s sort of remarkable how few sunsets we sometimes see, considering they happen every day.

That’s absolutely right! Glad you enjoyed the post. Thanks so much, Silvia :)

Lovely photos. My favorite is your ‘Silhouette of a tree at dusk in Nakhorn Ratchasima’! We get lovely sunrises here on Islay, Scotland too. Facing the wrong way for sunsets unfortunately.

    • Nita Jan 24 at 10:14 pm Reply

Thank you, Katie! I love that picture too.. It was so random and unplanned. Sunrises there must be pretty spectacular :)
